Schlencker Surveying Pty Ltd was established in Rockhampton in 1973. Since then, the company has developed into one of Central Queensland’s most successful businesses. Director and founder of Schlencker Surveying, Rod Schlencker, began the practice with experience in all fields of surveying, from supervising highrise building construction in Brisbane to remote mining lease surveys in the Cloncurry/Mt Isa areas.

Expansion of the organisation has resulted in the opening of an office in Brisbane and also on the Gold Coast in South East Queensland.

Schlencker Mapping Pty Ltd. was established in Brisbane in 1984 with the object of providing service-oriented, specialised Digital and Conventional Photogrammetric Surveys as well as conventional aerial surveys. The Directors of Schlencker Mapping Pty Ltd. were Rod Schlencker, Licensed Surveyor, and Tony Schlencker, a Canadian Land Surveyor who has had 37 years experience in Photogrammetry in Australia and overseas.

Schlencker Surveying (Qld) Pty Ltd was established on the Gold Coast in 1994 as an expansion of the Schlencker Group to provide service-oriented surveys in the southern Queensland and northern New South Wales regions. The Managing Director is Ken Burnett, a Cadastral Surveyor who has over 30 years experience in land surveying. The other Director is Rod Schlencker

The Schlencker Group has evolved into a highly respected organisation that provides more than just the traditional services associated with their respective fields. Spatial and land information management has become one of the fastest growing technologies over the last ten years and the Schlencker Group has undertaken this development to include it in the services offered.

Staff are experienced in all phases of information and data capture, preparation and presentation, using a range of tools such as GPS, Fully Robotic Theodolites, Map Info, AutoCAD and many others. The Schlencker Group has always been at the forefront of technology, being the first in Queensland to use GPS for cadastral surveys. The use of data recorders and computerisation streamlines data capture, allowing information to be efficiently and accurately processed and displayed.

Quality Assurance

The organisation has a commitment to Quality, and has implemented a Quality System into all three entities. These Quality Assurance Systems are based on the ISO 9002 standard and are audited internally and by third party accreditors.

Schlencker Surveying Pty Ltd has previously held a Quality Assurance Certificate Number 34 in the State Register. This certification has since lapsed and Schlencker Surveying Pty Ltd maintain a self-assessed program. Currently Schlencker Surveying (Qld) is developing it’s own Quality Manual which has been submitted, for Auditing to Project Services in the Department of Natural Resources. Schlencker Mapping Pty Ltd is the holder of Quality Assurance Certificate Number 5794. In August 1999, Schlencker Mapping Pty Ltd obtained Third party certification by the CSQA, with accreditation by JAS-ANZ, certificate number 421.

In 1993, Schlencker Surveying Pty Ltd received an award for the Telecom/Queensland Government’s Small Business Awards for “Total Quality Management and Best Practice”. In 1994, the company once again claimed this award, as well as for the “Business with less than 30 Employees”. Schlencker Surveying Pty Ltd also received awards in 1993 in the Central Queensland Business Achiever Awards in the Category Services/Professional and the Judges Award Overall winner.

Schlencker Surveying and Schlencker Surveying (Qld) Pty Ltd are accredited plan auditors with the Department of Natural Resources. Schlencker Surveying (Qld) Pty Ltd hold a 100% requisition free record.

Schlencker Surveying (Rockhampton) has commenced another chapter in the business with the creation of a new Partnership combining Foundation Managing Director Rod Schlencker and two high-profile Partners joining the business on 1 March, 2008. Don Emmerson (a long term senior team member) and Tony Cumner (Cadastral Surveyor) have further strengthened the business through their commitment to achieving quality outcomes for Clients and the business. The name of the organisation has changed from Schlencker Surveying Pty Ltd to Schlencker Surveying.
